Eighth Punch

[Boy this seems awfully familiar! However, this time Maoh isn't exactly planning on using Kanji's gear as a pool floaty. ~~Thank goodness somebody learned his lesson!~~ But anyways-- as per usual, Maoh accidentally hit one of the buttons that records things. He stops with what he was doing and leans in to the screen. However, he's no longer the cute and adorable Pichu he used to be when Kanji first got him. Some time after recovering from his pool adventure he and Kanji had a little heart-to-heart conversation that ended up with him evolving into a Pikachu towards the end.

Anyways--!!! Once finished pressing all the buttons he wanted to press he wanders on over to Kanji, who is currently sitting with a lap full of fluffy yarn on the floor in his room. Maoh pays him no mind since he's busy making things.

Next to him is that Meowth egg he bought from Kyou a while ago. ~~(And even though it should have hatched a while ago-- Iiii kind of forgot he bought one. oops orz;;)~~ The egg has a tiny little yarn hat on the top of it's....shell???!!! Curiously, Maoh approaches it and touches it lightly.]

[And at that time the egg lights up (aka dis egg be hatchinnn bitchessss!!!) Kanji and Maoh give each other a weird wide-eyed look before turning their attention back to the hatching egg.]

What.... what did you do?

... Well now, that's new. [Guess who has never seen an egg hatch in Johto?]

New? Have you never seen a pokémon egg before?

Not at all. This is the first time I've seen anything like it.

Relatively. I arrived just a few weeks prior.

I've heard that pokémon came from eggs, but I must say I wasn't quite certain it was true.

What kind of pokémon is it?

Yeahh-- it's pretty weird. But it's normal for them.

And this? It's a Meowth egg.

So all pokémon are like this? No exceptions?

... I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I'm not quite familiar with that one.

Pretty much, yeah. They all come from eggs.

Well if you have the time you can see what it looks like yourself? It's a cat basically...

I wouldn't have suspected it. Some of them don't seem to be the type to be able to produce one.

Yeah-- I still don't really know how rock or grass types can lay eggs. But-- ehh.

Oh-- yeah sure. [and with that, after detaching Meowth from his lap-ful of yarn he gently lowers the cat down in front of the screen.]

So if a rock lays an egg, would it be made of rock as well?

[Oh, that's cute.] What's that gold emblem on it's head?

Uhhh-- 'm not sure.

[the Meowth paws at the screen a little.] Nyaaan~~ Oh this thing? It's... some kind of charm.

It would certainly be quite an unusual sight!

[Sasarai presses two fingers at the screen, as if pawing back, smiling.] A lucky charm of sorts?

It would be, yeah...

[..... t-that is quite adorable. ;A; sorry he's just gonna. gape a bit... Meowth is just gonna paw at hte screen some more. OH SHI-- this guy asked him a question didn't he?] Huh??? Oh--oh yeah, kinda. I guess.

[He notices the gaping for a moment, looking at him curiously at that reaction as he continues to 'play' with Meowth through the screen, mimicking it with just his fingers.]

Were you also the owner of its mother?

[He shakes his head.]

No, someone was selling eggs over the gear, and I bought one.

So this thing can also be used for trading. These pokégears are rather wonderful things.

[a nod.] Yup. These things are pretty neat. If someone has a bunch of eggs they don't want they ask on this thing if anyone wants to buy a certain egg.

Perhaps I should try purchasing one, one day. Though I'm afraid I don't quite understand much about these pokémon until now.

Oh-- you could phone in or something to the Breeding Center. Man-- what did I do with the number... uhh-- oh here it is! And it's alright, not a lot do when they get here. Only the few who are lucky to have played the game when they were younger do.

There is a breeding center for these creatures? [But yay, he gets a number. That's helpful.] Perhaps I will give it a call next time. Thank you.

Yup! And no problem. I'm sure Souji'll be happy to help you out. He's....uhh, the one who owns the center.

[he blinks.] Oh-- yeah. In some worlds this is a child's video game.
