craftingrebel | Seventh Punch

[For tonight's entertainment Maoh will be attempting to use Kanji's gear as a surf board! He toddles his way on over to the pool but before he's able to use the device as a floaty he slips on a tiny puddle and falls in instead. Unfortunately, as the gear is on the ground all the viewers can see is the sky above. Though-- if you listen carefully you can hear the Pichu's small, yet frantic splashing. However, as time goes on the splashing noises start to decrease.

A couple of minutes pass as a dark blur zooms by the gear and a big splash is heard a few seconds after. Up pops on the screen is a very wet, very out of breath, very disgruntled looking Kanji.]

D-Dammit Maoh. I--I told you to stay away from the pool.

[The small Pichu he has in his lap looks a bit lifeless. Though it may look bleak, Maoh is breathing. He pushes his damp bangs out of his face.]

S-Shit... I hope it's... not to late. I don't... I don't even know what to do. [by this point it looks like he's going to have a panic attack.] Those.... those c-centers would help, right? Shit why did this have to happen!?

{Extending her hands out.} I've worked at a Pokemon Centre for quite a while.

S-So you think you can help?

{She examines Maoh with expert fingers, gently turning him, and pushing on something that makes him cough up water and a few other unpleasant things onto Nanao's lap.}

He should be now, but you'll need to take him to the Pokemon Center, in any case.

[he gives a small sigh of relief. Welp, he's still gonna have to go to the Center-- but at least he's alright...] Thanks. And uhh-- 'm sorry he.... well... [he rambles on.]

{BRB, wiping one of her hands on her skirt, and then reaching out to place it on his shoulder.}

Kanji-san. It's okay. Things like this happen, whether we want them to or not.

[he looks down to collect his thoughts.] I just wish they didn't...

{Rubbing his shoulder gently.}

I know. Believe me, I know. One of mine nearly died when he decided to tangle with a Qwilfish. Maou's tough, he'll be fine.

It-- really? How'd... how'd that go?

Not too well - he'd only just hatched, a baby Charmander, and he went wandering off...

We spent a week at a Pokemon Center waiting for him to get better.

Man... that sucks. I'm sorry.

Don't be - it happened a long time ago, and I keep a much better eye on my children these days.

Either way, we really should get your Maoh to the Pokemon Center just to be on the safe side. They're the professionals, after all.

[he nods.] Yeah-- thanks Nanao-san.

You're welcome. {Annnd handing Maoh back carefully.}

You go. I'll be up there as soon as I can.

[he nods and with that he gets to his feet.]

Kay, I'll see you there then...

[aaaaand when she shows up to the center he'll be sitting in a chair with his head in his hands.]

{Rolling in through the front door and wheeling over to where he is.}

Kanji-san? Have they finished with him yet?

[he shakes his head.] No, they haven't.

{Have a comforting hand on your shoulder, Kanji.}

I know how you feel, believe you me.

[he sighs as he sinks back into his chair.] I just hope he's alright.

He should be. They're professionals, after all. Besides, you pulled him out of the pool quickly, so that's several points in the right direction.

[he looks so miserable but just nods.] Yeah. I just... can't lose him too.

{A-awwww, Kanji-kooon.} He'll be fine. Death is not something that can occur here.

{She would know.}

E-Even with pokémon?

Most definitely not with Pokemon. No living thing, be they human or Pokemon, can die here.

So... he'll be okay?

Yes, he'll be fine.
