Seventh Punch

[For tonight's entertainment Maoh will be attempting to use Kanji's gear as a surf board! He toddles his way on over to the pool but before he's able to use the device as a floaty he slips on a tiny puddle and falls in instead. Unfortunately, as the gear is on the ground all the viewers can see is the sky above. Though-- if you listen carefully you can hear the Pichu's small, yet frantic splashing. However, as time goes on the splashing noises start to decrease.

A couple of minutes pass as a dark blur zooms by the gear and a big splash is heard a few seconds after. Up pops on the screen is a very wet, very out of breath, very disgruntled looking Kanji.]

D-Dammit Maoh. I--I told you to stay away from the pool.

[The small Pichu he has in his lap looks a bit lifeless. Though it may look bleak, Maoh is breathing. He pushes his damp bangs out of his face.]

S-Shit... I hope it's... not to late. I don't... I don't even know what to do. [by this point it looks like he's going to have a panic attack.] Those.... those c-centers would help, right? Shit why did this have to happen!?

Well, yeah. But you know how he is.... stubborn and all. [A sigh.] It's not really about that part though, you know? I mean, I'm over it.

Yeah I know, you and him are one in the same sometimes. Just hound him-- or knock some sense into him if it bothers you too much. 's what I do with you sometimes. [he blinks.] Well-- if it ain't that, then what is it?

I dunno, I guess it just got to me then. [He's trying, Kanji. He's really trying to say it. He lets out a sigh, taking a sip from the can and leaning back in his seat.] Like... a lot.

I guess I was so pissed off... or worried, or something. I just kind of took it out on everyone else.

Hey, don't beat yourself up over it. It's-- kinda natural to feel that certain worry when one of your close friends is in danger. But how much is a lot to you?

No, it's - it wasn't okay. I said a lot of crap I shouldn't have. [Including you, bro. But he pauses, letting out a sigh.] R-right, you were watching the Centre during most of that.

I - I wasn't really... sleeping much? Like, at all, really.

[He shakes his head and waves his hand. Now is not the time for apologies. However, he will take his desperately needed apology after their bro moment is done and over with. For now the only thing that's important to Kanji is helping Yosuke get over his awkward slump. (gym)]

What were you havin' nightmares or shit?

[He's briefly wondering how this somehow got flipped around to his problems, but it's better than Kanji freaking out, so he'll deal with it. He needs to get this off his chest anyway.]

Nah - well, not more than usual or anything. I guess I just couldn't sleep knowing Souji was in that cave without supplies for that long. And then I'd get mad that he was such an asshole about it, too.

It's kind of stupid now that it's all over...

How was he an asshole about it?

You know... just being so stubborn about it. He never wants anyone to know if he's in trouble or something's bothering him, so he gets like that.

That's just the way he is though. I guess it's also... some sort of leader mentality. If he crumbled then one of us would have crumbled. Eventually we'd snap outta it and go save him-- but there would have been more panic and flipping tables. Loosing time and all that junk.

I guess. [Clenches his fist a little. Thinking about it kind of annoys him.] But we all knew he was lying, so it just made things worse. I know he's the leader, but... he's gotta lean on us sometimes too. And he just doesn't.

Dude, you should tell him that. Tell him how you feel. That him doin' shit like that just doesn't sit right with you. You two are friends, he's bound to take your feelings into consideration. Hell, punch him if you have to. If it helps.

Yeah... [Does he sound a bit unsure? Because he is.] Any time I ever tried, he usually just changes the subject. Hahaha, he's really something sometimes.

[Tilts his head up, looking at the ceiling.]

Man, you gotta be persistent about these things! If it's really bothering you gotta let him know. It ain't gonna change on it's own yanno.

I know, I know... [But he doesn't know how to bring it up to him without it being TOO GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.] Guess I just didn't want to make a big deal of it after everything that happened. You know, with the shedinja and expanding the Centre and stuff.

[he nods.] Yeah, I know what you mean. Finding a time to talk about it after that happened must've been tough. But you just gotta do it eventually. Or it'll bottle up again, and lord knows I don't wanna have to see you go through something like that again.

[A small, quiet sigh.] I won't... I mean, even if it happened again. I kind of... get it now, you know?

That if you bottle shit up like that again I'll punch you in the face? [though he says it in a light, teasing tone.]

Guess it wouldn't be a normal day unless you were threatening to break my nose... hehe...

Gotta meet my quota somehow! [he gives a small grin but backpedals as he gives Yosuke a concerned look.] But is that all that's bothering ya, senpai?

[It's not, but he definitely can't tell Kanji about this.] Yeah, pretty much. I think anything else is just all in my head.

Well-- If you ever wanna... I dunno, talk about shit, I'm here man. I might not be good at listening as Rise or Souji or the others, but I can at least give it a try.

[His eyes widen, surprised by the offer. Coming from Kanji... it's something he didn't expect.] Th-thanks, dude. And uh... you can do the same, you know?

[He'll try, really.]

[he nods.] Sure, I'll keep that in mind man. Y'know , when you're not being a shit, you're a pretty cool guy senpai.

Th-thanks... [A small sigh.] I-it's not like I do it on purpose, you know...
