Seventh Punch

[For tonight's entertainment Maoh will be attempting to use Kanji's gear as a surf board! He toddles his way on over to the pool but before he's able to use the device as a floaty he slips on a tiny puddle and falls in instead. Unfortunately, as the gear is on the ground all the viewers can see is the sky above. Though-- if you listen carefully you can hear the Pichu's small, yet frantic splashing. However, as time goes on the splashing noises start to decrease.

A couple of minutes pass as a dark blur zooms by the gear and a big splash is heard a few seconds after. Up pops on the screen is a very wet, very out of breath, very disgruntled looking Kanji.]

D-Dammit Maoh. I--I told you to stay away from the pool.

[The small Pichu he has in his lap looks a bit lifeless. Though it may look bleak, Maoh is breathing. He pushes his damp bangs out of his face.]

S-Shit... I hope it's... not to late. I don't... I don't even know what to do. [by this point it looks like he's going to have a panic attack.] Those.... those c-centers would help, right? Shit why did this have to happen!?

No you aren't. You're different than those bimbos who are probably in it for the fame or some shit like that. Having friends is way better then being rich or famous anyways. At least you're truly happy with yourself. And can just-- I dunno, act like your plain goofy self around us.

[ and she lightly shoves back with a giggle; clearly, she isn't offended. ]

Hmm... how long've you been making plushies? I mean, you had to start somewhere.

I've been sewing since.... I could remember I guess. I guess I picked it up in Elementary school.

Whoa, that early?? Did you learn from your mom?

Yeah. From my ma and dad. Back when... yanno.

... Yeah. So your dad was good at it, too.

From what I remember yeah, he helped ma with the store. Though he was more into cloths and shit.

So... uhh... what's the sweetest thing about being an idol? There's gotta be some perks right? What did you like doin' the most?

Getting to try out all the first-class restaurants was fun... oh, but I like the fan-mail, too! And you get some really cute stuff to wear when you're an idol.

[he leans in closer.] Wait-- you got to eat in all the fancy ass restaurants? What was that like!? Is the food as good as they say it is? Oh-- oh yeah fan-mail. Were there any ones in particular that you liked to answer/read?

Most of it is, though some of it's totally overrated. And my favorite place is still Hagakure in Tatsumi Port Island, even if I didn't get to eat there all that much!

[ she smiles a little sheepishly. ] Actually, yeah. There was a girl who wrote me all the time, who also used to get bullied. She said that Risette made her want to keep trying, and she's doing much better these days.

[He sighs as he slumps back into his chair.] Maaaan, that still sounds good though. Which restaurants were overrated though? What food did they serve?

[He raises his brows.] Oh? Well, that's good. I guess. Sucks that she got bullied. But at least she was able to turn to someone for help and was able to get an honest answer back. None of that stupid bull most famous people write to their fans. Try harder or some shit like that. Pssh, try harder my ass.

There was one in Tokyo that did the really fancy sushi, but it wasn't that great... it just looked pretty. [ with a despondent sigh, though she raises an eyebrow at him. ]

Did you ever write to someone famous, Kanji?

Really? That's ridiculous. Sushi's supposed to look and taste good! [deterring from his food talk he looks up and shakes his head.]

Nah, I heard a couple of people talk about it when I was younger though. Kids would ask for advice, shit like that-- and they kept getting back the same thing. Their answers were pretty generic though.

Yeah... with all the mail celebrities get, they usually just sign a form letter and send that.

Did you ever do that to some of your fans? Or did you read all of 'em?

... [ sheepish ] I read 'em all. It's on my own time, though, so I usually do it before bed.

And that's somethin' else that separates you from one of those bimbos.
