[For tonight's entertainment Maoh will be attempting to use Kanji's gear as a surf board! He toddles his way on over to the pool but before he's able to use the device as a floaty he slips on a tiny puddle and falls in instead. Unfortunately, as the gear is on the ground all the viewers can see is the sky above. Though-- if you listen carefully you can hear the Pichu's small, yet frantic splashing. However, as time goes on the splashing noises start to decrease.

A couple of minutes pass as a dark blur zooms by the gear and a big splash is heard a few seconds after. Up pops on the screen is a very wet, very out of breath, very disgruntled looking Kanji.]

D-Dammit Maoh. I--I told you to stay away from the pool.

[The small Pichu he has in his lap looks a bit lifeless. Though it may look bleak, Maoh is breathing. He pushes his damp bangs out of his face.]

S-Shit... I hope it's... not to late. I don't... I don't even know what to do. [by this point it looks like he's going to have a panic attack.] Those.... those c-centers would help, right? Shit why did this have to happen!?

[Boy she's smart. This is also helping him freak out less.]

Until you can get there, the best you can do for your Pichu is try to calm down and think clearly. Find the quickest route there and he'll have a better chance.

[She's had some experience, that's all. And she knows panicking or freaking out stops people from thinking, so...no point to keeping that up.]

[he swallows and nods his head.]

Yeah--I'm... I'm no good to him like this. Thanks-- uhh?

[A nod from her as well. Smart boy, getting his head back on straight.]

[Hopefully she won't have to say "Now get moving"; No town is that big, after all, and he doesn't seemed to have stopped or slowed down any.]

Thanks Lightning. I'll uh, I'll let you know what happens to him once I get him to the center.

[And with that-- heeee runs like hell!! Also... good job Kanji... You didn't even tell her what your name is.]

[a couple of hours laaaater!!]

Hey-- Lightning? You there?

[Hey, Kanji. Remember that Pikachu that was chattering worriedly earlier? Well, he's chattering a greeting as Lightning comes back on screen, nodding.]

Yeah. How's he doing?

[kind of taken aback from the chattering Pikachu, but he nods a hello.]

I dunno, he's still with the nurse, but she told me that I got him here in time. Sooo... hopefully he'll be okay.

[Regardless of Kanji's reaction, the Pikachu will continue to chatter until Lightning gets him a berry and his mouth is full with that.]

He should be. A lot of near-drowning victims survive so long as they get medical treatment quickly. If the nurse said you got him there in time, his chances are good.

[Not the best since Pichu are so small, but still. He's got a chance.]

Yeah. Thanks for helpin' me keep my head on. I don't even wanna know what it would have been like if I didn't make it in time.

[A nod.] You really don't. It's never pleasant to see that, especially when it's someone you're close to.

Yeah... Definitely don't wanna go through that again...

["Again"? ...Then again, who hasn't sat in a hospital and waited for news on a loved one? No one she knows.]

What was he doing out by the pool if he couldn't swim, anyway?

[he looks off to the side and shrugs.]

I dunno, my gear was out there with him. So I think he was gonna try to use it as some kind of floaty or something.

[Gear as a floaty? ...not the craziest thing she's heard but it's up there.]

You might want to keep a closer eye on him from now on. Though I doubt he'll try that stunt again anytime soon.

[yeahhh, just about all of his new pokémon have a thing against his gear, sob.]

Yeah. I turned my back on him for a coupla seconds and then this happened. But I won't let this happen again, specially when I'm near open water.

[Unlike Lightning's, who just love to turn the thing on at the worst times...]

The spook will probably do most of that work for you, but keeping him close or in his ball should keep him out of trouble.

[he nods.]

Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks Lightning. Er--well thanks again, I guess...

[Bit of a headtilt here; he knows her name, but...]

I never did get your name, you know.

Oh-- Oh right, I never.... really gave you my name. [he fornws as he shakes his head.]

I'm Kanji Tatsumi.

[A nod; given the situation, she doesn't hold it against him for not giving his name. Things were hectic, after all.

And she'd say "nice to meet you", but she's not really the type, so...]

For what it's worth, I hope your Pichu will be alright.

[As does the Pikachu on her lap; Spark never fails to chatter his opinion, mouth full of berry or not.]

Yeah, me too... [He nods as he looks at the chattering Pikachu.] Man, it's amazing how yours can keep on chattering with a full mouth.

[A glance down at Spark, who's just about finished with his berry now. Fast eater, this one.]

Must be a talent. It's something he's done since he evolved. He used to be rather shy when he was a Pichu.

[More chattering, though it sounds a bit annoyed. So what if he was shy?! He's not anymore.]

[he gives a low whistle.] Must be. And I guess some just change after they evolve. My Combusken's gettin to be that way now.

Some change, some don't. I think it depends on what species they are and on their temperament, like it does with us.

[Well, the temper, anyway. Considering all her Rapidash did when he evolved was get more protective of her...]
